Kate Gardner is an Innovation Portfolio Manager with the Innovation@WWF Team and a passionate advocate for scaling impact in conservation. Her journey into scaling began with a simple yet powerful question: What happens next? During exit interviews with WWF innovation projects, Kate and the Innovation Team discovered a gap in structured support for taking pilot projects to their next stage. This sparked an in-depth investigation into the state of scaling, both within WWF and across the wider impact sector.

Over the past five years, Kate has worked as an innovation and impact consultant, helping teams develop and implement grant-funded projects with meaningful outcomes. Scaling has become a topic she’s deeply fascinated by, as it’s increasingly central to conversations in the conservation and social impact sectors.

Kate brings a unique perspective to her work, combining her expertise in innovation with a focus on supporting individuals as they navigate the dynamics between their personal goals and the institutions they work within. Her mission is to help others find success and joy in their work, while driving impactful solutions for the planet.
